広島で生まれ、香川、徳島、大阪、東京と育った幼少期、歌うことが好きな両親の影響を受け歌い始める。
シンガーとして活動を始めてからはカンヌ国際映画祭出展作品の主題歌やＣＭ音楽を担当するなど活動の場を広げ、近年では日本語の持つ温かさ、響き、力にスポットを当て各地でライブを企画、一つ一つ大切に歌い続けている。
maaayoの持つ独特な声と世界観は評価も高く、人と人を繋ぐ歌、心に響く歌をこれからも歌う。

カンヌ国際映画祭出展作品「keshinomi」主題曲

Maaayo was Born in Hiroshima and raised in regions facing the Inland Sea of Japan such as Kagawa, Tokushima, and Osaka.
While growing up she came in touch with various cultures and music, and valued particularly the sound and warmth of Japanese and she performs in clubs in Tokyo and events held around the country. She made a name for herself after singing the theme song of a film exhibited at the Cannes Film Festival, and performing at the One Dream Concert held at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial, and OLIVE JAPAN 2017, a big olive oil event in Japan.
